Winter decorations

Have you started decorating your Christmas tree yet?

Now's a good time to start - it's Tree Dressing Weekend.

Today's special challenge is to make some winter decorations to hang on trees outside that will benefit hungry wildlife too.

Make a loot bag

You'll need to find some pine cones and empty nut cases to turn into decorations.

Print this template to make a bag to keep your finds safe and carry them home.

(Please only collect what has fallen to the woodland floor - trees and plants hang onto what they still need.)

Garlands galore

Make bird food garlands by threading plain popcorn onto cotton, then hang them from the branches for a festive feast for the birds.

(You can even use them indoors to decorate your Christmas tree too :O)
