Randall Report

By Jade Randall age 10 and Kyle Randall age 5

Jade and Kyle ready to board the ferry

We went to Brownsea Island on Wednesday 29th October 2008, the weather was cold but sunny. From Poole quay to Brownsea is a short trip on the white/yellow ferries.

Jade and Kyle on a trail

When you get there, you can choose to do the activities depending on the time of year or go and explore the island looking for wildlife. We went on a trail looking for clues to our questions on bats as it was nearly Hallowe'en.

They saw a stunning peacock

On our way round we saw peacocks, pheasants and robins. We were really lucky to see lots of red squirrels running and chasing each other too. We did not see any deer, but we really would love to go back to find some to film.

They met Kate Humble!

Autumnwatch was also filming on the island and we were very, very lucky to meet Kate Humble and Bill Oddie.

They saw Bill Oddie too

We were very excited about that!

Jade and Kyle having a great time

We would say if you like playing outside and looking out for wildlife then the island is a great place to go for a day trip.

Been somewhere exciting like Jade and Kyle?
