Eureka! Spring arrives early

butterflyWe've been on the hunt for
the best and most fun ideas
for the 2009 spring/summer
CLUB activity pack.

To get some inspiration, we
visited Eureka Primary School
in Swadlincote, Derbyshire.

We set year 5 and 6 pupils
The Ecologists a special
mission - to design a fun filled
activity pack of factsheets,
puzzles and games.

Their brilliant ideas were incorporated into the nature detectives CLUB spring summer pack, sent to 15,000 children in March 2009

Doing research in the school grounds

Talking ideas through with Shaun by the school pond

Looking at what the class had done before with their tree

A pretty cool tree face in the school grounds!

Looking for minibeasts to put in the minibeast sheet?

Working in teams to put ideas together

Drawing out activity sheets to go in the pack

Writing down ideas and themes based on their research

Presenting a team's ideas to the rest of the class

Trying to impress the judges in the Dragon's Den!

The class mascot showing everyone that worms are NOT insects!

Well done to all of the Ecologists at Eureka school - lots of your ideas were made into real activity sheets and sent to thousands of nature detectives all over the UK!
