This week be a reporter!

ARGH!
There are loads of words this week!
But that's what reporting is all about...

Here are loads of ways of making the news.
Whatever you enjoy doing, you can do something - writing, reading, filming, listening, drawing, editing or researching what's going on.

Lots of chances to send your stuff into nature detectives.
We want lots of nature stuff for our giant newspaper, ndTV and radio downloads. The address is at the bottom....

TV tips

  • plan exactly what you're going to do and say first
  • make background pictures for the studio
  • make sure you talk loud, slow and clear!
  • look at the camera - don't let your eyes dart around
  • don't be afraid to CUT! and TAKE TWO! or 4, or 10!

arrowmake your own and post a DVD to ndTV

RADIO
say it your way

Record your own nature news show:

  • keep it short - 3 minutes is a long time to speak!
  • have more than one reporter reading the news
  • what interesting background sounds can you do?
  • can you make some cool intro music?
  • pretend someone is phoning the radio station
  • do a radio show for animals to be broadcast in a wood

If you can't record it, try writing a script and performing it in front of your friends. Some theatre groups do this - put a radio on a table on the 'stage' and hide behind a screen while you read out the show.

PAPER
print the news

If you haven't got any fancy equipment, you can make a fab printed newspaper! Be creative, neat and work in a group if you can....

Get some newspapers and magazines and research!

  • what do newspapers have inside them?
  • can you make some adverts?
  • take some pictures for the articles
  • what kind of witty headlines can you write?
  • think who is going to read your paper and write for them
  • can you write a woodland paper for the animals there?
