Make an advent calendar that doubles up as a Christmas decoration!
Print this template and cut out the 24 robin outlines, decorate them and make a small hole on each one near the top of the back.

robin advent calendar
On 1st December, tie robin number one onto a piece of string or ribbon. Every day add another robin, until all 24 robins are hanging up.
Top tip: If you're making this for someone else you can even stick a sweet, or write a joke on the back of each robin :O)

Secret keepsakes
Do you like hunting for treasure when you're out in the woods? Then make an advent calendar for a friend, or your brother or sister, full of secret keepsakes.
Reuse and decorate old matchboxes or other small items of packaging. You could reveal a different box every day, or stick them all together to make a shape.
Inside each box, place a secret keepsake. Can you find 24 different items, one for each day? A shiny conker, a smooth pebble, a red leaf...
