Seed dispersal
Seeds are dispersed in all sorts of ways.
Some, like sycamore seeds, are blown by the wind. Some, like acorns, are dropped from the trees and buried by squirrels. Some are carried away by water and others rely on birds and animals to eat them...
Birds and animals eat the fruit then go away and poop the seeds onto the ground. Yuck!
Find out how seeds are dispersed with this iDial.

Autumn folklore
There's an old saying "If the woods and hedges are full of berries, it will be a harsh winter". Have you heard this before?
It could be because people believed that nature was providing more food for animals to survive through a really bad winter.
There are lots and lots of berries around at the moment, do you predict a harsh winter?
