Busy birdies

Take a closer look at the birds you spot - what are they busy doing?

Print off the busy birdies activity sheet and see if you can tick off all the bird actions on it:

Balancing birds

Birds have brilliant balance.

They can perch on thin twigs, hang updside down at bird feeders, some balance on water whilst others can hover in the air!

Make your own balancing birds and see if you can get them to balance on twigs and branches - it's more difficult than it looks :O)

  • print a template
  • cut around the outline of your bird
  • colour it in
  • stick or attach a small piece of modelling clay (or a pebble) on the place shown on the picture

  • collect feathers to make a collage
  • cut out squares from magazines to make a mosaic
  • paint it
  • colour it
