
Terms and conditions
1. THE COMPETITION
1.1 The Woodland Trust Nature Detectives Creep Crawlies Colouring Competition (the Competition) is being run by the Woodland Trust (We/Us), a registered charity, whose registered office is at Kempton Way, Grantham, Lincolnshire, NG31 6LL and whose Registered Charity No. is 294344.
1.2 The Competition is open to everyone (You) who is 16 years of age and under on the closing date and who lives in the UK or Ireland.
1.3 All entries (Your Artwork) must be posted to Nature Detectives. Please see the Site for more information about how to do this.
1.4 You can use any type of media to create Your Artwork.
1.5 A maximum of 1 entry per person and 1 entry per class/group will be accepted and only 1 prize can be awarded per person.
1.6 The closing date for entries is midnight 29th August 2012. Entries received after this date will not be included in the competition.
1.7 You must have Your parent’s permission to enter this competition. Your parents must agree to the terms and conditions of this competition for You. By entering this competition we will assume Your parent’s permission has been given.
1.8 We reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants.
2. ENTRY FEES
2.1 Entry to the Competition is free.
3. ENTRY CATEGORY
3.1 The Competition is divided into age categories are as follows:
• Under 5 years of age
• 5-8 years of age
• 9-11 years of age
• 12-16 years of age
4. WINNING AND RUNNER UP ENTRIES
The entries to the Competition will be judged as follows:
4.1 An ‘overall winner’ will be chosen in each age category. Their entry will be judged as the best submitted entry in their age category.
4.2 A ‘runner-up’ will be chosen in the each age category. Their entry will be judged as the best runner-up entry in their age category.
5. JUDGING
5.1 The winners will be selected by an internal judging panel. All winners will be notified by email after voting has closed and awarded their prize.
5.2 The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into. We reserve the right to not consider an entry for whatever reason and remove it from the Competition.
6. COPIES
6.1 Please ensure that You keep a copy of your submitted entry. We cannot be held responsible for the safe storage of entries You submit to the Competition, including Acts of God which may cause the entry to be destroyed or damaged in some way.
7. PRIZES
7.1 Winners will receive prizes as detailed on the nature detectives website
7.2 We reserve the right to substitute a prize with something of equal value as necessary. There is no cash alternative and none of the prizes are transferable.
8. COPYRIGHT LICENCE, USAGE AND PERMISSIONS
By entering the Competition, You agree:
8.1 To grant the Woodland Trust free of any charge, an unrestricted and unlimited non-exclusive licence to display, use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, sub-license and/or sell the artwork.
8.2 The Woodland Trust can make the artwork available to Woodland Trust staff, including volunteers or contracted staff, the public, corporate partners and/or third party organizations working with the Woodland Trust in whole or any part via an electronic information storage or retrieval system such as a photo library now in existence or invented after this date or by means of electronic or data transmission (i.e. email).
8.3 The Woodland Trust can use the artwork in connection with the Woodland Trust’s various activities such as but not limited to Woodland Trust publication, presentation, talk/event material, website or marketing material, products, national/local press for publicity promotion and/or campaign purposes.
8.4 The artwork is Your own original work, that You have the right to give the Woodland Trust a licence to use it for the ways set out above and that You have the permission of people who feature in the artwork You submit to this competition. If those people are under 18 You have the permission of their parent or guardian.
8.5 Not to hold the Woodland Trust liable for any damage caused by the use or inability to use the artwork and from any claims concerning the use of the artwork that have been breached by You.
8.6 The artwork does not contain any damaging, harmful or live or material and understand that the Woodland Trust cannot provide insurance or financial cover in any event for loss or damage of the artwork.
The Woodland Trust:
8.7 Agrees that it will not use Your artwork without appropriate acknowledgement to You, the creator.
8.8 Will not accept an artwork that infringes on any trademark, copyright, trade secret, right of privacy, patents, right to publicity or any other applicable law or property right.
9. WITHDRAWAL OF ARTWORK
9.1 You can withdraw Your artwork from the Competition at any time up to the closing date by contacting us by email at naturedetectives@woodlandtrust.org.uk , using the email address You used to on the entry form, providing Your full name and describing the artwork You wish to withdraw.
10. PUBLICITY
10.1 The Winners and Runners Up agree to take part in post Competition publicity with the Woodland Trust and We reserve the right to use their names in any publicity.
11. CHANGES TO THE RULES
11.1 We reserve the right at our absolute discretion, to change the rules of the Competition while it is running if it appears to Us that it would be equitable or desirable to do so. We will publish the amended version with a last updated date on the Site. It is Your responsibility to check regularly to make sure You are aware of any updated information. If You do not agree to any changes to these rules, then Your only remedy is to withdraw from the Competition.
12. BREACH OF THE RULES
12.1 Any breach of these Rules by You will void Your entry. If a breach has occurred, but is discovered after the award of a prize, we may require the return of that prize.
13. GOVERNING LAW
13.1 This contract shall be construed according to and governed by English Law and the parties hereby submit to the jurisdiction of the English Courts.
